VOLTA REDONDA CONCERT BAND

In 1974 the Band of FEVRE ( Fundação Educacional de Volta REdonda) was not functioning and, in April of the same year, teacher Nicolau Martins de Oliveira was invited to reorganize this musical group.
In the first years the group worked as a Brass Band, participating in several contests promoted by Radio and TV Record of São Paulo City, and competing in 1975 through 1979. The Band was the champion in the Children-Youth Category in these five years and General Champion for three years (1976, 77 and 79).

In June of 1982 the Band was changed to the CONCERT BAND OF FEVRE, by including the following instruments: Flutes, Clarinets and Saxophones.
In its repertory the Band has included classical type music, expanding the experience of its musicians and developing a new young audience conscious of classical music appreciation.

On the 20^th of November, 1990, Municipal Law 2580 officially established the CONCERT BAND OF FEVRE.
