on October 20, 2009 Sarah Higino
will perform a concert with flutist Helder teixeira, in the auditorium of FINEP,
in Praia do Flamengo, 200 - Rio de Janeiro - RJ.

On October 18, 2009 cellist Hugo Pilger will teach a Master Class to the
students of the Project "Volta Redonda City of Music". The class will
take place in Colégio at 14 h.

On October 10 and 11, 2009 the Volta Redonda Concert Band and the Volta Redonda
Children-Youth Choir recorded the Volta Redonda Anthem. The recording team came from
Rio de Janeiro city and was leaded by Eduardo Monteiro.

Sarah Higino was invited to
conduct the Orquestra Sinfônica Nacional. The concert took place on September 13,
2009 in Cine Arte of UFF, Niterói - RJ.

No dia 29 de novembro de 2008 foi realizada a Entrega Oficial das
Instalações da Sede do Projeto "Volta Redonda Cidade da
Música". Após as reformas necessárias, além
do Projeto, a Sede deverá abrigar também o Balé.

north-american trompetist Charles Schlueter and tecnical coordinator the trompetist
Nailson Simões. On June 11, 2006 took place the Opening Concert of the Encounter.

Brasileira de Música, gave a talk in the Série
Trajetórias in Rio de Janeiro - RJ.

14 to 21, 2007, the II Volta Redonda International Trumpet Encounter, with the
north-american trompetist Charles Schlueter and tecnical coordinator the trompetist
Nailson Simões. On June 11, 2006 took place the Opening Concert of the Encounter.

Nicolau Martins de Oliveira.

In August of 2006 the Orchestras of the Project "Volta Redonda City of
Music" played in the XII Rio International Cello Encounter
in Volta Redonda city and Rio de Janeiro city.

Construction of the "Project Volta Redonda City of Music " Building,
in Rua 535 - Bairro N. S. das Graças - Volta Redonda, RJ.

The Project "From Steel to Classical" is receiving a new name that fits better
with its target. The new name of the project is Project "Volta Redonda
City of Music".

The Volta Redonda Violoncelo Orchestra took part, in August of 2005,
of the XI Rio International Cello Encounter.

The Project "From Steel to Classical" will be
receiving, from March 13th to March 21st, the visit of the
England Maestro, Richard Markson. Mr. Markson will be working with
the Volta Redonda String Orchestra and will be conducting a
concert on March 20th.

The Volta Redonda Violoncelo Orchestra took part, in August of 2004,
of the X Rio International Cello Encounter.

Teacher Tânia Lisboa, who lives and teaches violoncelo in England,
teached master class for the violonvelo students of the Project
"From Steel to Classical" during two days in December of 2003.

received, in September of 2003, the third visit of
North American Maestro

conducted a concert in Volta Redonda.

achieved on August 31, 2003 the
Brazilian Anthem Celebration. About 900 students took part in the
celebration.

The Volta Redonda Violoncelo Orchestra took part, in August of 2003,
of the IX Rio International Cello Encounter.

Teacher and pianist
Sarah Higino
was invited to perform a Piano Recital in Paris, France.
The recital took place in the Brazilian Embassy in April 11,
2002, at 18:30 h and Ms. Higino played works from the
Brazilian composers Francisco Mignone, Heitor Villa-Lobos,
Cláudio Santoro and Lorenzo Fernandez, and from the
French composers Claude Debussy e Maurice Ravel.

received, in October of 2001, the second visit of
North American Maestro
Andrew Balent
,
who worked with the Concert Band of FEVRE and
conducted a concert in Volta Redonda and another one
in Rio de Janeiro.

Nicolau Martins de Oliveira,
the creator of the Project "From Steel to Classical",
received the Medalha do Pacificador (Pacifier Medal)
offered by the Brazilian Army Ministery.
The ceremony took place at the Agulhas Negras Military Academy
in Resende - RJ, on August 25, 2001.

On June 02 and 03, 2001, the Project
"From Steel to Classical" received the visit of 3
representatives from the Ministry of Culture in Brasília.
They came to know the work that is done in the Project and the
resulting musical groups.

On April 19, 2001, o Projeto "From
Steel to Classical" received the visit
of a group of people from Rio de Janeiro with
Mr. Ruy Cezar, the Rio de Janeiro Municipal Secretary
of Sports and Teacher Moacyr Bastos, Rector
of the Moacyr Bastos University Center, with
other teachers from this University.

The
Concert Band of FEVRE and the
Volta Redonda Children-Youth Choir
performed on April 16, 2001, in the formal
re-opening of the Conde de Linhares Museum,
in Rio de Janeiro city, a cultural promotion of the
Army Ministery.
The Brazilian Vice-President Marco Maciel was
present in the event.

On March 23, 2001, the Project "From
Steel to Classical" received the visit
of a group from Brazil-Japan Cultural Institut
with the presences of the general manager, Mr.
Nobuo Yanai, the artistical director, Ms. Maria
Regina Câmara and the social director, Ms.
Harumi Urata.

The Volta Redonda Violin Orchestra performed
on March 16, 2001, in Barão de Juparanã
city to celebrate the 1st
aniversary of the CIEP Djalma Macedo.

On March 08, 2001, the Equador School; its
Principal, Teacher Ricardo Portela, and leaders
of Vila Isabel in Rio de Janeiro city did homage
to
teacher Nicolau Martins de Oliveira,
for the work in the Project "From Steel to
Classical".

Nicolau Martins de Oliveira,
the creator of the Project "From Steel to
Classical", received
the "Golfinho de Ouro" (Golden
Dolphin) Award offered by the Rio de Janeiro
State Council of Culture.
The ceremony took place in the Rio de Janeiro
Municipal Theater on December 27, 2000.

The Volta Redonda Violins Orchestra performed on
November 22, 2000 at the Penitentiary Lemos de
Brito in Rio de Janeiro - RJ giving to the
prisoners a moment of musical culture with the
target of improving their sensibility.

The Volta Redonda String Orchestra recorded the
Christmas message that the Rio Sul TV (regional
TV Globo) showed during the month of December
of 2000.

A team from the Globo Television Network was in
Volta Redonda from October 09, 2000 to October 11,
2000 recording the groups of the Project "From
Steel to Classical" for the TV program
AÇÃO.
