BASIC WORK

The Basic Work is developed in Municipal Schools in several stages:

1^st stage

The Work is done in the 1^st year of Elementary School (6-7 years old) in class, to awaken the pleasure for music study in the child.

2^nd stage

The child participates, voluntarily, outside the classroom, in the Choir and the Band for Beginners (Fifes and Percussion).
In this stage, reading music and beginning instrument instruction are taught.

3^rd stage

The child begins to study the instrument best suited to him or her; again voluntarily outside the classroom.
In this stage, Work is done, using a practical methodology, addressing reading of music and the instrument apprenticeship.

Included in the Basic Work we have:

• Musical teaching

• Band for Beginners

• Symphonic Orchestra - Embryo - of Volta Redonda (Violins)
• Violas and Cellos
